I introduce you to Svaroopa® Yoga (pronounced “svah-roo-pah”) (meaning ‘the light of your own being’), based on Hatha Yoga principles, is a non-athletic, gentle style of Yoga that most people can do regardless of experience, fitness level, shape or size.
This is a yoga you would not have experienced before. While other styles of yoga use spinal muscles to maintain the poses, Svaroopa® yoga releases those same muscles which are the deepest layers of muscles attached to the spine, to decompress the spine from the tailbone through to your neck and head. This is called a core release. You will also learn to lean into the skeletal system to support the body. This is a completely different approach to working with the body and described as “Deceptively Easy – Amazingly Powerful’.
The Asanas (poses) are sequenced from the tail to the top, using precise alignments and props to support and meet the tensions in your body, releasing these tensions, which feel great!
This yoga is beneficial for those wishing to quiet the mind prior to meditation.
Also for those who participate in fitness, Svaroopa® releases and lengthens muscles, helping to relieve delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) following training, aiding recovery and reducing injury.
